Question: “Our organization will start a performance-based management for all employees in 2010. We are to select two goals that are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Timely. As an executive assistant to a senior-level executive in a large organization, I find it difficult to define specific and measurable goals. I schedule meetings, make travel arrangements and generally manage the people traffic for my boss's attention, but I don't see those duties as measurable. Does anyone have suggestions for adding specific performance goals for an administrative support professional?” — Karen Bryant

Karen, I have a similar job but in a distribution center so a lot depends on the environment you work on, and how much access you have to other people in the company.
What I based my goals this year was following first the company main goals but these days there is a lot of focus in sustainability and innovation… do you have any opportunity to maybe do something in your field maybe encourage others and then you can actually measure it.
Let me know00
Hi Karen,
Our organization has already adapted a performance-based management tool. I have to set my SMART goals for the new year also. I started by speaking to my manager about HIS goals for our organization and what he will be writing as his goals. I then piggy-backed on his by thinking of several goals to help him achieve his. I don’t know if that will help but it’s a start.
a have to fill a performance form. i worked as administrative assistant.can you help me with 4 goals and objectives .
