If your company’s leaders welcome and reward smart input from employees, take them up on it. But don’t just scribble your great idea and drop it in a “suggestion box.” Instead, talk up your proposal first. Collect initial feedback from your bosses. When you’re ready to submit the idea, send a copy to any higher-ups who helped you craft it. That way, they’ll see that you treated their input seriously (and they may champion your cause and see that your suggestion is implemented).
