When you’re accepting a new job, there’s more at stake than pay. Consider how much paid leave you get. Compare what you’re offered to these figures for medium/large firms (100 or more employees), state and local governments and small companies (fewer than 100 employees):

Paid holidays
Medium/large companies: 9.1 days
State/local governments: 11.5 days
Small companies: 7.5 days
Paid vacation days
Medium/large companies
At one year of tenure: 9.6 days
At five years of tenure: 13.9 days
State/local governments
At one year of tenure: 12.3 days
At five years of tenure: 15.3 days
Small companies
At one year of tenure: 7.8 days
At five years of tenure: 11.5 days
