Little things mean a lot

Q: Our CEO recognizes fine work by giving out a “star card”—a postcard with a big star and some room for him to write a personal note. A copy goes in the recipient’s personnel file. Recently, I was part of a team that did great work. The rest of the team got star cards but I didn’t. Should I look into why?

A: Yes. Ask your boss, “I’m curious as to why I didn’t get a star card.” It was probably an innocent oversight, but there might be a problem or misunderstanding. Try never to labor in darkness.
