The (IRS News Release IR-2007-200)/Self-Employed (SB/SE) Division’s Fast Track Settlement plan, an initiative designed to expedite case resolution, is expanding to five new areas: two on the East Coast and three on the West Coast.
Under this test program, taxpayers who are audited may resolve outstanding disputes by working with IRS staffers. Initially, the IRS unveiled the Fast Track Settlement program in Chicago, Houston and St. Paul, MN. The new locations are Philadelphia; central New Jersey; San Diego; Laguna Niguel, CA; and Riverside,CA.
Tip: The IRS will re-evaluate this initiative in September 2008.
