See your people in many dimensions

One day, a factory owner had the misfortune of having one of his key employees die. Not knowing what to do, the owner went to the employee’s home, where the family invited him in.

“Do you mind if we read some poetry?” the employee’s widow asked. The owner said he didn’t mind and sat listening for some time to the beautiful verses. “Who wrote these poems?” he finally asked.

The widow replied that her late husband had written them.

That experience became pivotal for the factory owner. It taught him to see all his employees in multiple dimensions, not only in the function that they fulfill on the job.
