According to the study’s 700 participants: —Adapted from “Study Shows Corporate Leadership Is Failing to Focus on Factors Necessary for Long- Term Survival and Competitiveness.” A perception that leaders are unmotivated. Approximately 40% of all study respondents rated their leaders’ morale as “fair” or “not good.” A sense that the organization is not a good place to work. More than half of all respondents felt their organizations had developed serious employee-retention problems. A sense that the organization is not competitive. Forty percent of white-collar employees see their organizations as “middle-of-the pack” or “struggling” in their industries.
