A woman wanted for stealing money from her employer in North Dakota gave authorities a helping hand when she used her former boss as a reference for a job in Pennsylvania.
Sharon Platt is charged with stealing about $5,000 from Murphy Motors in Williston, N.D., where she worked as an office manager. When she applied for a job in Pittsburgh, she used Pat Murphy, the company’s owner, as a reference.
Platt was arrested shortly after.
