You might be a wonderful person and a fantastic employee; but if you do the following, people may think otherwise:
1. Checking your phone often. You come across as having poor, a low attention span and even a lack of respect for others.
2. Taking too long to ask a question. If you go on and on about yourself and allow too much time to pass before you ask a question, you come across as self-centered.
3. Shaking hands the wrong way. People read a weak handshake as a lack of confidence—and studies back it up. A study at the University of Alabama found that people with a firm handshake are less shy and neurotic.
