NOTE: Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays as observed in the District of Columbia are taken into account to determine due dates. Under the federal deposit rules, you’re allowed a deposit shortfall of the greater of $100 or 2% of your tax liability.

Semiweekly and monthly deposits are for the deposits of FICA and withheld income taxes due on wages paid during the time periods indicated.

April 5

Semiweekly deposit for wages paid on March 29, 30 and 31.

April 7

Semiweekly deposit for wages paid on April 1, 2, 3 and 4.

April 10

Employees who work for tips. If employees received $20 or more in tips during March, they should report them to you on Form 4070.

April 12

Semiweekly deposit for wages paid on April 5, 6 and 7.

April 14

Semiweekly deposit for wages paid on April 8, 9, 10 and 11.

April 18

Monthly deposit for wages paid in March, if the semiweekly deposit rule didn’t apply.

Corporations. Corporations file Form 1120 for calendar year 2016 and pay any tax due. File Form 7004 if you want an automatic six-month extension of time to file and deposit what you estimate is due.

Calendar-year corporations deposit the first installment of estimated income tax for 2017. A worksheet, Form 1120-W, is available to help you make an estimate of your tax for the year. Fiscal-year corporations deposit by the 15th day of the 4th month of their tax year.

April 20

Semiweekly deposit for wages paid on April 12, 13 and 14.

April 21

Semiweekly deposit for wages paid on April 15, 16, 17 and 18.

April 26

Semiweekly deposit for wages paid on April 19, 20 and 21.

April 28

Semiweekly deposit for wages paid on April 22, 23, 24 and 25.
