People pay close attention to the use of your hands as you speak, and a study by Colgate University researchers says people tend to listen more carefully to someone who uses hand gestures. However, try to keep your gestures between the top of your chest and the bottom of your waist; if you start getting outside of this space, your gestures will likely come off as wild and distracting.
