Everyone gets negative feedback in their job occasionally. It’s how you respond to it that defines your reputation.

•  When it’s a mistake: Acknowledge it, and show your boss how you’ll learn from it.

•  If you think your boss is wrong: You can thank your boss for his or her help, and simply say that you will take the points into consideration.

•  If you’re confused: Don’t be afraid to ask for more details; it will help you do it better the next time.

•  If your boss isn’t happy with your work: Acknowledging your boss’s feelings is a good first start, but remember to offer a solution as well.
