No one wants to have his or her mobile device lost, but what if it happens? Is your phone or tablet set up so that someone else can return it to you?
Here are some tips to increase the chances of a lost device getting returned.
1. Case Clues: Most mobile device users have a case on their phone or tablet. Simply put your name, alternate phone number and email address on your case. You can use a label maker or even order a custom case at Zazzle.com and design your own case.
2. Leave a card: There is space in most cases to put your business card. Some have a card holder area and in others, you can place the card between the device and the case. Just make sure your card has an alternate number or email on it.
3. Lock Screen Message: Whether you have an Android phone, iPhone or Windows phone, set up your lock screen message to say “If found, please call ****alt number here***** or email ****email here*****” This will make it easier to get your phone returned.
Put on the card or case the message, “Return for reward,” which gives an extra incentive to get your device back.
And one tip if you find someone’s iPhone, just ask Siri, “Whose phone is this?” or you can ask “Who owns this iPhone?” for instant info on the owner.
