Q. Is it really worth going to Excel 2013?
A. If you are an advanced user analyzing multiple datasets in Pivot Tables, the answer is, most definitely, yes! This ability was formerly only available in PowerPivot in Excel 2010, but is now native to Excel 2013. If you are a basic user who feels left out of cool functionality like charts, conditional formatting and Pivot Tables, you’ll love the Quick Analysis tool. When you select tabular data (data organized across rows and columns), Excel will suggest how to present it visually. Another great basic user tool is called Flash Fill. This utility allows you to breakout combined data like city, state and ZIP, just by typing the first data item and the first letter of the second data item in the column to the right.
