Just like the internet, dealing with your email can waste lots of time. Keeping a clear inbox allows you to address only recent emails without sifting through piles of old ones. Set some ground rules for yourself to handle your email efficiently.
- Handle it once. When you open an email, decide right then what you will do with it. Respond to it, file it or delete it.
- Unsubscribe. If you’re getting too many newsletters or junk email, take the time to unsubscribe. It will save time dealing with future emails.
- Schedule time. If your inbox is out of control, schedule time to clean it up. Add the task to your schedule so you follow through.
