You can count on loyal employees even during difficult times. To build employees’ commitment to you and the team, follow this advice:
- Help them advance their careers. Show employees that you want them to succeed by offering plenty of learning and growing opportunities. In addition, offer recommendations on LinkedIn, and serve as a reference for adoptions, loans and other personal business should the need arise.
- Share your struggles. If you’re aware of an employee’s hurdles and you had similar ones, share how you overcame them. That shows that you are human and breaks down the walls that can sometimes hurt a manager/employee relationship.
