Professional development inspires employees and often renews their excitement about their job. Follow these tips to encourage ongoing learning:
- Offer in-house opportunities. Host “lunch and learns.” Have various managers or outside experts present on topics relevant to your organization.
- Research local opportunities. Do the legwork for them and compile a list of free or low-cost seminars and workshops happening around you. Get approval for the company to pay when possible.
- Challenge them. Offer a friendly competition. See who can amass the most time spent learning within a set period.
- Lead by example. Show your commitment by attending workshops yourself. Be sure to share relevant information with the team.
