Are you great at planning but fall short on execution? Planning is important, but when you overanalyze, you bog down the project and kill momentum. Start acting with these tips:

  • Move forward. The lack of action could be holding you back. Just move forward, knowing full well that you can make adjustments as needed.
  • Encourage employees to take ownership. As a team, make assignments and set deadlines. Then hold everyone accountable for the work.
  • Decrease meetings. Employees can’t complete their work when they are sitting in meetings all day. Initially you will need to meet to brainstorm. However, once you have a plan in place, scale back the number of times you gather your team.
  • Grant more autonomy. Stop demanding approval at every step of the project. Empower employees to make decisions by eliminating red tape and streamlining processes.
