Whether trying to solve a problem or develop new ideas, you need to tap into the creative side of your thinking and free yourself to answer the “what if” questions.
“Better questions are one of the best keys to new ideas and new thoughts,” writes Dave Lakhani, who has successfully launched 10 businesses. He suggests these questions to start:
- What would happen if …?
- What if we didn’t …?
- What if we did …?
- Who could solve that problem?
- What is one thing that would never work? Why?
- What is the most bizarre idea you can think of related to this challenge?
- If we had all the money in the world, how would we solve this problem?
Start looking for ways to combine your answers with those questions and you will discover new possibilities.
