Coastal Digital, an award-winning digital marketing agency, recommends this process for writing marketing copy that sells. First, plan each message by answering these questions:

  • What is the copy for?
  • What is its purpose?
  • What do we want to achieve by writing it?
  • Who is going to read it?
  • Why should the customer listen to us and buy the product/service?

Once you have done that, rewrite all of your answers into benefits for customers. For example, how will a particular feature improve the customers’ lives?
