Technology can quicken the recruiting process and make hiring managers’ jobs much easier. However, remember these tips when using technology to attract your next superstar employee:

  • Don’t abandon a human touch. While social media and online job search sites can expand your reach, and analytical data platforms can help you narrow your candidate pool, you still need people to be part of the recruiting and hiring processes.
  • Gain buy-in from stakeholders. If you are investing in new employee referral software or a video-interviewing program, talk to the people whom you will expect to use it before you make a purchase. Ask for their feedback, hear their concerns and then ease those concerns before expecting them to use the technology. You’ll experience much less resistance if you do.
  • Be prepared to measure metrics. Tech solutions can be expensive, and you will need to gauge the effectiveness of those solutions in terms of less turnover and higher-qualified candidates. The execs in your organization will want to know if their investment was worth it.
