Expedia will begin showcasing the likely comfort and “happiness” levels of certain travel routes alongside its wealth of pricing data, reports Forbes travel contributor Grant Martin.
Routehappy is a sophisticated metric that takes into account many qualities relating to a particular trip and calculates the overall comfort level of that trip. Included in the calculations are access to Wi-Fi, whether a carrier offers seatback entertainment, the padding level of the seats and whether the plane carries fresh food.
Soon, Expedia will be incorporating this information on its site to allow travelers to sort their trips not only by cost, but also by comfort. “Happier” flights are likely to cost more, but if comfort is key to your satisfaction, it may be worth it.
