Today’s modern apps and mobile devices open doors to help even the busiest person stay fit and get healthy.
Here are three ways mobile apps can help you stay healthy.
1. Calorie Tracking: MyFitness app tracks exercise and meal calories. Enter basic information about your current weight, height, gender and birth date, as well as goals, and this app will help you lose weight and live a healthier lifestyle. Easy to use and available for iOS, Android, BlackBerry and Windows devices.
2. Activity Trackers. Activity trackers are usually wristbands or watches that can track steps taken, distance traveled, calories burned and sleep hours. These smart devices talk to an app and provide users data on their mobile devices. The top activity trackers are: FitBit, Microsoft Band and Life Trak Zone C410. Most apps are compatible with iOS and Android and a few with Windows devices.
3. Fitness Games. Games like Zombies-Run! and Fitocracy apps make exercising more fun by turning it into a story while tracking your distance, time and pace. This turns a boring event like running into an exciting and fun adventure.
As with all new habits, if you link a new habit to an old habit, you are more likely to stay with it. For example, if you link entering your daily meal intake right after you eat, you are more likely to do it than if you just “hope” to remember.
