If you’re producing a document, it’s probably because you want people to read it. But if it’s cumbersome to navigate, people will either skim it or just ignore it. This is particularly true as everyone consumes more and more content online.
The belief is that online viewing makes it easier. But it probably means endless scrolling and tapping to review a document or pull out specific information. There are tools in Microsoft Word that can make your document easily consumable online, with navigation features that enable your readers to zero in on just what they need.
First, use styles
Many people avoid styles because they assume it is too advanced or too complicated. It’s not. Try this. Type a topic heading, followed by Enter, followed by your text like this:
Here is information about my topic.
Now, place your cursor anywhere inside the line that has your topic, and press Ctrl+Alt+1. It should look something like this...(register to read more)
