Q. I want to paste a picture of my Excel chart in my presentation, but I don’t want the white background. How can I change this?

A. Pasting a picture of your chart is a good idea when you don’t want anyone to change the date in it. However, it does use whatever background and colors from Excel, exactly, by default. Try formatting the background of your chart with No Fill. You can do this just to paste it and then undo it before saving your workbook. Another idea is to set a transparent color, on the Picture Tools Format tab, Color button. Choose the white background. This will work well if your slide background is still light. If it is dark, axis and data labels may disappear against the dark background.
