Jeff Bezos credits great hiring for Amazon’s growth from a quirky start-up in 1994 to today’s $75 billion retail colossus. Over the years, Bezos told Inc. magazine, he has always asked three questions before hiring anyone:
- Will I admire this person? Will he or she be an example to others?
- Will this person raise effectiveness of the group? Great hires elevate company performance.
- Along what dimensions might this person be a superstar? Bezos seeks people whose personalities, passions and creative interests will strengthen Amazon’s culture.
