Business Management Daily Wins Award for Best Blog at the 38th Annual SIPA Conference
Falls Church, Va. — The Specialized Information Publishers Association (SIPA) has named Business Management Daily the second-place winner in the 2014 SIPAwards competition for Best Blog or Commentary. Business Management Daily’s Editorial Director Pat DiDomenico won the award for his The HR Soapbox blog.
The award was presented during SIPA’s 38th Annual Conference at the Capital Hilton in Washington, D.C., June 5-6, a training and networking event for professionals in the publishing industry. The association named 57 winners for excellence in editorial, marketing and online categories.
“Winning a 2014 SIPAward is an especially impressive achievement given that there were 187 entries, and nearly 20 judges—all esteemed industry veterans—taking part this year,” says Luis Hernandez, the vice president of the Specialized Software & Information Industry Association’s (SIIA) SIPA division. “The range of subjects of the awards reflects the incredible diversity of topics covered by SIPA members.”
“The goal of HR Soapbox is to bring human resources professionals unique insights and advice on every aspect of their jobs,” says DiDomenico. “In addition to news on HR compliance and trends, the HR Soapbox tries to answer the off-beat questions like ‘Can employees take FMLA leave for a hangover?’ and ‘Is it legal to set a no-beard policy for your staff?’”
DiDomenico first launched The HR Soapbox blog in May 2011.
Business Management Daily’s Online Content Manager Jaclyn Baldovin and Senior Web Editor Elizabeth Hall won the first-place SIPAward for Best Social Media Success Story.
Investing Daily’s Philip Springer and John Persinos won the first-place SIPAward for Best Financial/Investing Newsletter or Ezine for their newsletter Personal Finance. Investing Daily’s Igor Greenwald and Robert Rapier won the second-place award for the same category for their newsletter MLP Profits. Business Management Daily and Investing Daily are both divisions of Capitol Information Group, Inc.
SIPA, a division of SIIA, is the international trade association devoted to enhancing the interests of commercial information providers that serve niche communities.
