"Well, of course, Davia didn't volunteer to help out with the end-of-year inventory," Aida tells you. "She's mad at you."
You're surprised to hear this. "Why?"
Aida looks up from her work. "Because you sent that e-mail telling everyone they had to make contributions to the monthly progress report."
"But they do. I knew people were slacking off, and so I wanted to help her out."
"Yes, but Davia is responsible for the monthly progress report."
The clouds part over your head. "Oh. And she's angry because I sent the e-mail to everyone instead of speaking to her? That I stepped on her authority?"
"That's part of it."
You pause for a moment. "I guess I needed to make clear that, when I delegate a task, I'm still responsible for it. Mr. Zamzam doesn't chew up Davia when the report is late or light on substance. He chews up me."
"That's the other part," Aida says. "Davia wants you to let her send the report directly to Mr. Zamzam."...(register to read more)
