There are benefits to proceeding at a slow, deliberate pace. But the advantages of speed can outweigh plodding progress. As Robert Leleux, a New York writer, said, “Look at the tortoise and the hare. Even though the tor-toise actually ends up winning the race, who would you rather be? A wrinkly, fat old tortoise or a lithe, quick-witted hare?”

The real test is whether you capitalize on speed. As Isaac Asimov said, “I am not a speed reader. I am a speed understander.”
