Two days after the meeting, call the employee to review key points and ensure you’re both on the same page. Express faith in the person’s ability to improve performance and/or behavior. Two weeks after the meeting, call again to check in. Make sure the employee is on the right track to improve. Two months later, give a progress report and solicit.
