Even if you’re not a chronic procrastinator or someone who’s easily distracted, you can probably think of plenty of tasks you don’t like to do because they’re tiresome. Still, you have to get them done, so find a better way to complete them with these tips from EZ-PR founder Ed Zitron.
- Take advantage of technology to sign and send. If you need to sign a document, do it electronically with HelloFax or HelloSign. If you’re required to send a fax, use an electronic fax service such as eFax and EchoSign.
- Share documents for faster collaboration. Syncing or attaching bundles of files can sometimes take too long. If you have large amounts of files that others need to see, share them by using a tool such as Droplr.
- Keep track of email threads. If you need to follow up on emails later, you don’t have to leave them in your inbox until the day comes. BCC emails to a Followup.CC account, and they’ll bounce back to you when you need them.
- Be smart about how you put things off. Give yourself permission to delay some tasks that aren’t time sensitive. Balance your work with mini-breaks that keep you energized. If you work too hard to finish something, you probably won’t be happy with the outcome—or you might give up entirely—so give yourself a little break and then get back to it.
