Some employers have begun using video games to assess job applicants’ skills. That may be an effective hiring strategy, especially for younger candidates, who probably grew up playing video games. But what about baby boomers and members of the World War II generation?
Used poorly, generation-specific employment practices could create legal liabilities. Using video games for hiring is just one example of the conflicts managers face when balancing business imperatives with the needs of a multigenerational workforce.
