Dealing with difficult interpersonal interactions is something you’ll have to face from time to time.
Recruiting and public relations blogger Lindsay Olson offers solutions to four common workplace challenges:
- The co-workers who constantly gossip. Just don’t get involved. It won’t help you win people’s trust and confidence around the office.
- The colleague who frequently violates the dress code. If one person is always dressing well beyond the bounds of the dress code you can ask human resources to address the situation.
- The boss who tries to “friend” you on Facebook. Set a policy that you won’t be “friends” with anyone from work and then stick to it.
- The boss who takes credit for your ideas. It’s always best to speak directly with your boss and work things out.
