The IRS is backing away from two e-filing services used by tax pros. It planned to close down the Disclosure Authorization and Electronic Account Resolution services on Aug. 11.
But some practitioners say they won’t be able to access taxpayer information electronically or resolve their inquiries online. Now tax pros will have to file a paper form to request a transcript or other confidential records.
