Every career comes with its share of challenges, but great employees overcome them. Deloitte CEO Joe Echevarria recently shared his best advice for overcoming whatever career obstacles you may face.
- Do what successful people do. Look to the successful people around you for guidance. Figure out how they became successful and try to do the same.
- Outwork the competition. Give yourself an edge over your colleagues by proving that you want to succeed more. When you really want it, you will work very hard to get it.
- Get a mentor. Mentors provide an honest outside perspective that can help you recognize the areas you need to improve on.
- Present a positive attitude. When it comes down to it, a great employee is someone who is positive, cares about people, follows through and is passionate about what she does.
