Exceptional leaders typically have no clue what their “genius” is. They can’t put their finger on what happens when they’re at their best.

They might say, “Well, I just grew up in the organization,” or, “I was in the right place at the right time,” or, “You know, I happen to be good at this.” But they can’t pinpoint why.
