Q. In SharePoint, if I control access differently at the folder level than the library, and if the document shows up in another view without the folder, will it have the same access restrictions?
A. Yes! While you can create custom views in SharePoint that will not show in the folder, the actual location of the document doesn’t change. So, different access permissions that you placed on a folder will carry over the document and any view that document might be displayed in. SharePoint operates in such a way as to not show a site visitor anything in a list that the person wouldn’t have at least view access to.
