If you’re always setting goals you never seem to accomplish, the problem may be that you’re doing it wrong. Next time, try these tips from Ken Cheo, principal at Winfree Business Growth Advisors.

  1. Write it down. Ninety percent of people don’t do this, but those who do are more successful.
  2. Make it SMART. Attainable goals are specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and time-bound.
  3. Break it down into daily, weekly and monthly tasks. It will be less overwhelming and you’ll find it easier to see progress.
  4. Review it every day. By doing so, you continually visualize achieving them, which makes the process a lot easier.
