Question: What do you think will happen if a manager suggests that a female subordinate put on a bathing suit to attract new customers?
Answer: A lawsuit.
That’s just one of the accusations the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) made in a recent class lawsuit filed against SunTrust Banks, Inc. The suit said a Sarasota, Fla., branch manager also inappropriately touched female employees and made lewd comments to them about their anatomy, sex life and dating habits.
Several women complained to SunTrust, including SunTrust’s human resources department. The company failed to take appropriate action to properly remedy the situation.
