Outlook 2010 View Tips

Just about everything you need with regard to changing your view in Outlook can be found on the View tab in Outlook 2010. Here's a little tour through the View ribbon. Have you assembled a view that met a specific need, but now just want to get back to normal? Click the Reset View button in this group. NOTE: If you've hidden the Reading Pane, you will need to rehide it. Conversations To use all the great new conversation tools in 2010, check the box in this group. Do you like the old indented levels look of the older version? You can change that in Conversation Settings. NOTE: If your organization is using Exchange 2007 behind your Outlook 2010, some conversation tools don't work as advertised. NOTE: To turn on conversation view, be sure to be in the by Date view. In Tasks, if you use Categories to designate projects, use the Expand/Collapse button to collapse all categories. Then, just expand the one for your project. [caption id="attachment_31186" align="alignnone" width="315" caption="View Ribbon Right"]View Ribbon Right[/caption] Layout & People Pane Many people feel that the new Outlook 2010 screen is too busy. Here is where you can turn on and off the various panes in the default view. Don't forget those little double arrows on the Navigation pane and the To Do Bar. These can be minimized without turning them completely off. Window Love the Open in New Window and Close All Items buttons here to quickly take you from a gaggle of windows open in separate emails and screens and reduce it to just one.
