Instead of worrying about what direction your life will take in one year or five years, keep your focus on three things—today.
- Are you working on something that’s meaningful and challenging—something you have a 50-50 chance of achieving?
- Are you relating to people you work with or are friends with, people you actually like and feel close to?
- Do you feel recognized for the work you’re doing, whether it’s paid or unpaid?
If you can answer yes, you’re probably motivated to achieve. Wherever you’ve answered no, take a step to create change. No matter what you’re doing in one year or five, you’ll feel challenged, loved and respected—as long as you keep your focus on these three things every day.
