The future you want is attainable, but you’ll need a positive vision to reach it.
That’s according to personal finance expert Marianna Olszewski, who has a new book called Live It, Love It, Earn It. In addition to the advice about managing finances, she offers these fun suggestions for charting your future:
• Create a vision board. Post images of what you envision on a bulletin board.
Olszewski used one to envision the beach house she wanted, as well as the husband of her dreams—and got both.
• Use cash only. Why? “It’s real and makes you conscious of the exchange, where credit cards can breed denial,” she says.
• Park it in the worry circle. “Women worry a lot and that can make us lose focus,” she says. Write financial, business and personal worries in the worry circle. Acknowledge them, then schedule one hour a week to think about them. “They don’t take up space in your mind because they’re on paper.”
