Q. Some of our employees have jobs that require some driving. Do we need to ask these employees for proof that they have driver’s licenses and insurance?

A.  Texas employers may require employees whose duties involve operating a motor vehicle to have a driver’s license. Drivers and vehicle owners must carry insurance.

Thus, it would probably be in your interest to require proof that any employee who operates a motor vehicle has a driver’s license and insurance.
