The EEOC has finally issued 93 pages of proposed regulations explaining how employers should implement the ADA Amendments Act (ADAAA), which took effect on Jan. 1.

The ADAAA expands the definition of “disability,” allowing many employees to be protected under the ADA for the first time. That’s just one point of clarification you need to know about. The proposed regulations also provide specific examples of impairments that will “consistently” qualify as disabilities under the ADA.

The regs, which should be finalized by year-end, were released with a handy Q&A guide. To read 10 key Q&As about the new regulations, go to www.theHRSpecialist.com/ADAAA.
