Blago fallout leads to more ethics classes for state staff

Former Gov. Rod Blagojevich may be gone, but the effects of the ethics scandal that drove him from office live on.

Gov. Pat Quinn has signed a package of legislation governing ethics for Illinois state employees. State workers will now have to take ethics training within 30 days of being hired. Before, they had six months from their start date to complete the training.

Additionally, employees who have purchasing authorization must complete financial disclosure forms and list any conflicts of interest they may have.
