Let’s say you’re good enough to lead your team to success. On top of that, let’s say you’re lucky enough to be recognized for it.

This is a case for humility.

And if you’re really smooth, it’s an opportunity to deflect praise with humor.

Here’s how Pete Carril did it.

In February, Princeton University splashed his name across its basketball court and draped a picture of him from the rafters. The former basketball coach needed to acknowledge the honors.
