Two Durham police officers are being investigated for allegedly posting racially charged comments about President-elect Barack Obama on their MySpace web pages in the days following the election.

A department employee complained about the postings, prompting an internal affairs investigation.

Chief of Police Jose Lopez told the Raleigh News & Observer, “As a police officer, it doesn’t matter where you do it, if you provide disservice to the organization, it violates the code of conduct.”
