A four-day reunion for all past employees of Cedar Point, the country’s second-oldest amusement park, drew about 1,000 alums and their families over Labor Day weekend.

VP John Hildebrandt says the event helped create goodwill among past employees, including many who live in the community and whose families have become customers.

Participants paid a discounted rate of $24.95 for all-day access to the park and the event, which featured food, roller coaster rides, photos and a band.

“We had a 35-year veteran who worked here in the summer of 1969 and used to always talk about having a reunion,” Hildebrandt said. “This summer we thought we would give it a try.”
