“Take the job that offers you the most money. If you are in a corporation, always take the transfer, promotion or assignment that pays the most.”
Sounds mercenary, until you hear Fox’s rationale:
- If you go for the money, you’ll become immediately more visible.
- People will expect a lot more from you and, therefore, offer more challenging assignments.
- You’ll position yourself aggressively for the next promotion.
Once you’ve accrued enough power by going for the dollars, then you can do what you love.
