Two separate studies have found that people aren’t taking advantage of two very basic breaks from work: lunch and vacation. A May survey of 1,000 office workers found that more than half of them take 30 minutes or less for lunch. And a study by Harris Interactive found that one-third of the U.S. employees polled don’t use all of their allotted vacation time each year. Reason: They’re too busy. Many respondents to the first poll—58 percent—said they prefer to lunch at their desk and continue working.
